Our Social Innovation Incubator’s 2011 Circuit Program entrepreneurs welcomed guest mentor Carolynn Duncan for a candid and funny conversation about managing time, teams and resources.

Carolynn is a very sharp entrepreneur, and she has done an outstanding job of elevating the visibility and impact of entrepreneurship in Portland…and soon the nation as Portland Ten begins to license its model to other cities. We were very fortunate to have her insights.

A few favorite tidbits:

  • Sometimes the fastest way to accelerate is to slow down and rest.
  • You should be sleeping about the same amount that you are working.
  • Always clarify roles in writing, even though they might change next week
  • Feed the morale bank – celebrate accomplishments with your team, often. Go out, have dinner, go to the movies, whatever it takes.

Carolyn was even kind enough to share her slides. Check them out.
